Gregg Danton started out (not unlike
any Guitar Hero/Rockband teen today )thrashing it out in the basement ..dreaming.
The tools- harmonica,sax ,flute,keys,vocals
–whatever’s needed.
Playing
in Top 40 and Tribute cover bands were to be “his apprenticeship”
logging in the miles and years he would get to share the stage and rehearsal studio with ;
Moon /Minglewood ,Jim Foster,Kentish
Steele&The Shantelles Idyll Eyes, Colin James, Frank Soda, Goddo and Paul James.
Opening
act opportunities in the past include;
Jesse
Colin Young (Youngbloods), Harlequin, the late Long John Baldry , reggae icon Burnin Spear and in the summer of 2007 (a personal milestone) an offer to open for fellow saxplayer.. and hero.. Edgar Winter.
Playing sax with reggae bands Asiyah and Frank Carroll and Hit Squad gave
Gregg a taste for playing original material and this inspired him to write.
The
idea was to write to showcase his instrumental ability …
The evolving tunes, however,demanded
only his guitar and bass playing and took on a life of their own.
Gregg’s guitar based original
material can be found worldwide on blues friendly F.M. and internet broadcast playlists He has been licensed to internet T.V.
and European music services.
